Turn Your Wounds Into Strength
Hitting rock bottom can hurt. Hitting rock bottom, feel empty and cold. You will know when you hit the very bottom, your very soul will feel it. Here me when I say this. You will stay there. You will not live there. You will not unpack yourself there. You will fight your way back up. Back to the light. You will kick, scream, and crawl your way out. You are not staying there. You will not.
We will always have mountains to climb. We all carry our own burdens and sorrow on our backs, more than we should. Some of us carry such heavy stories that they could paint a night sky into color. Some of us have felt hurt so intense that it can be hard to breathe. Thr grief overshadows and light that be shine through. Others are trusting the light again when all we have gotten is darkness. Finding our way through the forest to the open world. We can not hide from our trauma. We can’t even outrun it. I’ve tried to do both, and it’s failed me. Feeling the hurt from trauma doesn’t feel amazing. It can even feel like trying to breathe with collapsed lungs. I can tell you that it’s possible to breathe through it. It’s possible to live through it. It may not always look amazing or feel the greatest, but it’s something that is needed. In order to heal, we have to feel. Easy words until it’s done. We will fall. We will stand. We will collapse. We will march forward. Through the hurt and fear, we will not just survive. We live.
The breaths we take in between the chaos matter so much. There is still beauty within it. It’s that glimmer of hope. There will still be parts of us that are sharp and not as smooth. Parts of us that are wild and free and not merely tamed. That is where your fire lays. That is where your fight is. These are the spaces within us that can hold onto love and the hope of tomorrow. Through it all, the good and the bad. That is where love will meet you. That is where our faith will wait for you.
