Turn Your Wounds Into Strength

Always remember that this is YOUR life. You can do what you feel. You can do what brings you peace. You can move away from people who bring you down in life. You don’t need to explain yourself. You can do so without any regret or sorrow. You are allowed to make mistakes, as many as you need. You can change your style today and change it again tomorrow. You are allowed to work on yourself today, tomorrow, and everyday of your life. You are on no one’s timeline. You can be yourself without fear of ridicule. You don’t have to figure it out today.
This is your life. You can choose any journey you like. Choose your path.
I can say that most of my life I have been quiet and I camouflaged into the background of life. I stayed quiet, unheard, and sometimes unseen. I never tried to burden others. Deep down I can admit I just wanted to fit in and be wanted, just like all of you. Into adulthood I gave, gave, gave and sacrificed most or all of myself to make others happy.
I finally came to terms with my self. It is not my job to change who I am to make others happy, and neither should you. It is not your job to change into someone who other deem “acceptable”. You are worthwhile beyond measure and you exist in this world. You need no other guidelines. Be who you are because it brings you comfort and joy. If it makes other uncomfortable, do not shrink back into your shell. Let the love you have for yourself radiate within and out of you. Show others who you are without one single apology.
Your feelings matter. Your inner being matters. You matter.
I have always wondered why we tend to inflict our own pain. Why we feel insignificant when we try so hard to be pure to others?
We stay in this place we created in our mind for so long that we forget to feel or that we’re human anymore. We forget what happiness feels like because the world we created has no true light. The hardest part is remembering to feel again. Not just sadness or anguish but instead joy and faith. Stop focusing on the pain. You are more than that. Come out and find any ray of sunshine you can. Feel the warmth and comfort from it.
You’re almost there!
Sometimes we feel like we aren’t good enough to those we love or even to ourselves. These are the times where you need to remind yourself the battles you’ve won to get where you are today. Remind yourself of what you have accomplished in life instead of things you have not. Remember the darkness you have over come and how strong it has made you. Remind yourself of how worthy you are.
You are enough even when you do not feel it.
